The Curieuse Tortoises
Curieuse held a leper colony once; today it belongs to a few rangers and a few hundred Aldabra giant tortoises that wander the beach like slow furniture. Boats cross from Praslin in around twenty minutes, and most trips pair the island with a creole barbecue and a snorkel stop on the way home.

St Pierre Islet

Markets, mountain passes, a late swim
Victoria’s market before the heat, the Sans Souci road over the spine of the island, then Beau Vallon or the Anse Major trail to finish. Mahé rewards a car and a driver who knows where the viewpoints hide.
Vallée de Mai, then Anse Lazio
The morning under the coco de mer canopy, the afternoon on the beach half the country’s postcards are shot on. Do the forest first — the light under the palms is better before noon.
Ferry over, bicycle everywhere
La Digue runs on bicycles and ferry timetables. Cross on the Cat Rose from Praslin, ride to Anse Source d’Argent while the tide is low, and reserve your return seat — the late boats fill first.
A Seychelles boat day ends in barbecue smoke.
The pattern is fixed and nobody complains: a morning snorkel off St Pierre or Moyenne, then the crew beaches the boat and grills fish and chicken over coals. The creole barbecue is half the reason to book a full day on the water — these trips run it best.
Mahé is more than the airport island.
